The Punta Cana Guy started as a personal promise from founder Gary Downey: to give travelers a ride they can actually count on.
Gary first flew into Punta Cana eighteen years ago. He kept coming back, learned the roads and the rhythm of the place, and eventually bought a home here. He’s an American who lives on and off between the States and the Dominican Republic, so this isn’t a company run from a desk somewhere else. These are his roads too.
Over those years, one question kept coming from friends heading down: who do you trust for the ride from the airport? That question became this company.
Today the promise is kept by a team of professional local drivers who know every resort route cold and treat every pickup like it’s the only one that day.

Most resorts are 15 to 50 minutes from PUJ: Cap Cana about 15 to 20 minutes, the Punta Cana and Bavaro strip about 25 to 40 minutes, and Uvero Alto around 40 to 50 minutes. Tell us your resort for the exact time.
